Against all odds Progressive Form deliver another absolutely awesome EP - the second 12" in less than a month from new talent Nao Tokui.
This isdeveloped microscopic electroid house music at its finest and most advanced, music that could only really emerge from the vast technological playground the Japanese love to explore. Nao drops some more cutting edge club funk picking up from where the last EP left off, the opening groover 'Rotation' being a sublime take on house with a lush piano loop subtly positioned under the 4/4 kicks, while modulating synths morph and shape their way over the top and subversive sub bass adds punch to the groove, solid click house. 'Pine Ave' is a tad more digital, subtle glitches and spacious noises stick to the beat while ethereal synths create an almost hidden melody that becomes more evident as the track progresses, ace. Flip over for the killer 'Ms Cherry' with its R2D2 stle beeps and whirrs that cut across the house beat, while digitised house sounds are sent through the filters to deliver 21st century house-muzik, essential stuff.
