Lars Pellarin
(artist from Denmark)

1. please introduce yourslf

Im Lars Pellarin and im from Denmark. I have an album out on the Australian label Couchblip. Im also involved in other projects like an indietronica band, and my own recordlabel.

2. what do you think about your domestic electronic music scene?

Its very small relative to for instance Berlins. We got 2-3 good recordstores here in Copenhagen who have a good selection of electronic and experimental music.
We havnt got too many labels here who release experimental music on a regular basis.
That gives you a good picture of the size of things here.

3. what do you think about north ameriacn electronic music scene?

uhm, i thought you were Japaneese?

4. do you know the japanese electronic music scene?

only through distributors discriptions. I hear about Progressive Forms activities, which has given me an idea about a pretty big scene with plenty of venues who host international events.
I also know Tokyo got a good and openminded crowd, who are very interested in european and american experimental music.

> and are you interested in it?

yes - i think you got an interesting take on modern culture, and i feel i can relate to your approach, even though its a somewhat different one from my/our culture.

5. what do you think about the future of electronic music environment/scene?

not much...
perhaps that globalisation and the internet is breaking down the possibilities to really develop special and unique regional tendencies. When i go to other countries i cant find records that i cant buy back home or over the net - thats a shame i think.
And id like to see people take a more individual take on music than they do now - lots of music sounds pretty alike.

6. do you have any interests in current music scene?

yes - i have a recordlabel, and i make records. So theres both an economic interest, but also a general curiosity.
