CD and DVD by Mstislav Rostropovich + Yoshihiro HANNO at Radio France

(English below)

I bought quite a lot of CDs the other day, and i was shocked by one of the CDs which is Mstislav Rostropovich's "Bach Cello Suites Nos.1, 4&5" released on EMI classics. This album contains both CD and DVD. Of course I enjoyed the CD very much but more shocking was the DVD. You can see his playing in the huge church and it was incredible, beautiful, and Human beings are soooo great! I couldn't imagine that human beings can play such a beautiful sound... This DVD really moved me. It was soo groovy and i was dancing when i was watching it. I felt like one of my limiter was gone again by watching this DVD. If i could see him by any chance and if he ask me "Are you also a musician?" then i have to say "No.I'm not!"

Yoshihiro HANNO will perform at Radio France in March 2006. And now he's been preparing his LIVE set in the studio of Radio France. This time he gave me a chance to visit there. Thank you so much MR.Hanno!
For this event, artists use more than 50 speakers in the concert hall for their performance. There're many great artists are planning to play such as Yoshihiro Hanno, Ryoji Ikeda, Pan Sonic and so on. and it's for FREE! I'm so proud to hear that two Japanese artists are participating for this great event.
I'm really looking forward to see this event. Please check this when you have a chance to visit Paris in this period.

It's an old handmade vintage modular synthesizer which is provided for Yoshihiro HANNO. it looks sooo cool.. I wanna try to use it someday...

なぜかLD(!)

Hi AOKI,
sometimes I wish I lived in Paris. Many good things at Radio France. For those interested here is a link to the programme: http://www.ina.fr/grm/agenda/pad/2005-6/GRMsaison05-06.pdf
I'm pretty sure that Hanno-san will do something beautiful. It's a pity that most of his work is not distributed here... I need to go to amazon.co.jp I guess.
Anyway I'll see Hanno and Yuki next month in Geneva. My ears are so happy!

hi AOKI,
i was just wondering what you use to make your beats and how?
i have many software drum machines but i cant seem to create the sounds i want.
i love your "typical" beat style, like on "superstrings 76" (and superstrings 76+), "protocol m.t.t" and "simply funk" for example :D

Also, is your new album fully written and are you just waiting for all the "business side" of things, or are you still working on some things for it?
I really can't wait for it ;-)

best,
Murray Turner, Scotland.

...sorry, i forgot about "Doki Doki Last Night". How did you make the beat on that song? I love it.
thanks.

Murray.

Murray.
thanks for your comment.
It doesn't help you anyway if i tell you how to make it.
It's not that difficult, i'm just making rhythm which i hear in my
head with many software and hardwares.
I hope you can find your own ways to make it.

and I'm still working on my next album, please wait a bit more.
thanks.

yeah, i kind of knew you would say that. I was just curious because the sounds i get from the software drum machines i have are very weak. it's frustrating :(
it is important though that i find my own methods, otherwise i would just be trying to copying my favourite artists sounds....
im sure i will eventually ;-)
thanks AOKI

best,
Murray.
